Job Description

The University of Groningen is seeking a highly qualified researcher to join our faculty as a Tenure Track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Software-Intensive Systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge research in software-intensive systems, with a focus on methodologies and expertise in software engineering, theoretical computer science, information systems, and distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and develop a research line and research group in software-intensive systems
  • Supervise PhD students and contribute to the development of the degree programs of the School of Science and Engineering
  • Acquire external funding and promote the societal relevance of research
  • Teach in and contribute to the development of courses with computing science content
  • Contribute to the organization of the faculty, including participating in working groups and committees
Requirements
  • PhD degree in computer science or a related field
  • At least two years of postdoctoral experience, preferably in a different country than where the PhD was obtained
  • Strong international research network and excellent research qualities
  • Good track record in teaching and organizational competences
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and good command of spoken and written English

  • Full-time position with a salary from € 4,332 (salary scale 11) up to a maximum of € 6,737 gross per month (salary scale 12, depending on career stage)

The position will be embedded within the Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, in the Computer Science Department. The specific research group in which the position will be embedded depends on the profile of the candidate and will be one of: Software Engineering, Fundamental Computing, Information Systems and Distributed Systems.
