About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at GKN Aerospace. As a key member of our EWIS Installation Design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical wiring systems for our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 3D models of EWIS concepts using CatiaV5, in line with modification specifications and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers to discuss and incorporate approved concept solutions into the Design Data Set.
  • Utilize Enovia and Fokker Elmo specific toolsets to generate, store, and release EWIS models and their associated electrical properties.
  • Represent Fokker Elmo in integration meetings with customers and assess the impact of Change Requests on EWIS Design Data Sets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably Aerospace Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in EWIS Installation Design and 3D modeling of Electrical Wire Harnesses using CatiaV5.
  • Experience in performing quality reviews of Design Data Sets prior to formal release.
  • Ability to work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GKN Aerospace experience.
  • Familiarity with Airworthiness Regulations and DOA (Part 21J) principles.
  • Proficiency in using design tools CatiaV5 (electrical workbench) and Enovia.
  • Understanding of configuration management principles and technical requirements.
