Job Overview

AFP is seeking a skilled Dutch language journalist to join our global digital investigation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for tackling mis/disinformation in The Netherlands and Belgium, utilizing strong digital investigation skills and native-level Dutch language proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and navigate disinformation across social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
  • Produce high-quality investigations and articles that meet AFP's editorial standards.
  • Support the news team as required.

Requirements

  • Native-level Dutch language proficiency, with good Flemish and English skills.
  • Appreciation of the value of combatting disinformation online.
  • Expertise in digital verification techniques and tools, as well as a keen interest in online media developments.
  • Discipline and motivation to work independently to produce a regular turnover of stories.
  • Methodical and detailed approach to writing debunks that present evidence clearly and concisely.

Working Conditions

The post is based in The Hague, with the possibility of Brussels being considered. The contract is initially short-term but potentially renewable.
