About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Innovative Mechanical Solutions Engineer to join our team at Protix B.V.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing production systems used in our insect rearing facilities. This includes evaluating and selecting new and existing technologies and equipment, optimizing capital expenditure efficiency, and strengthening our market position.

You will actively engage with technology suppliers to evaluate best practices and develop sustainable partnerships, which are essential for each new capital project. By contributing to large capital projects and integrating proprietary and third-party equipment, you will ensure that our design choices are consistent throughout the project.

You will also participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) to ensure that what is built and delivered meets all set requirements and design assumptions.

Your role will be pivotal in maintaining your professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and select new and existing technologies and equipment
  • Optimize capital expenditure efficiency
  • Develop sustainable partnerships with technology suppliers
  • Ensure consistency in design choices throughout the project
  • Participate in FATs and SATs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or master's mechanical engineering, or mechatronics degree
  • At least 7 years of experience working in the mechanical engineering field
  • Experience in robotics, crate logistics, and stackers
  • Project management experience with such equipment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills
