  • About the Role
  • This is a unique opportunity to join ING Netherlands as a Calypso expert and contribute to the FXMM Hedging Calypso scrum team.
  • As a Calypso Senior Engineer, you will work in an Agile environment, utilizing our Continuous Delivery pipeline.
  • You will develop complex new functionalities and coordinate implementations on the Calypso Production environment.


Calypso Overview


Calypso is the system responsible for Back Office operations, enabling crucial commercial activities of ING.


Tens of thousands of trades are processed in real-time by our systems every hour.


Flawless processing or immediate correction are key, as trades covering billions of euros pass through our systems each day.



The Team


The Calypso Global Team is experienced, international, and flexible.


You will work with your team on strategic projects, keeping ING up-to-date with the latest Financial Market Standards while constantly improving the system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Owner to understand and refine functional specifications and how they translate into application features.
  • Use Calypso, Java, and other supporting tools to build the requested features.
  • Work on strategic projects and coordinate with other IT teams.
  • Be part of a DevOps team in global Calypso and interact with business users and stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations to improve development tools and processes.
  • Apply Agile methodology and work in bi-weekly sprints.


Requirements

  • 5+ years Calypso experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Calypso back office.
  • Java hands-on programming knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of payments processing.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to design end-to-end solutions.
  • Eagerness to learn new things and get involved in complex projects.
  • Ability to communicate well with business users and stakeholders.


Nice to Have Skills

  • Knowledge of Treasury main activities.
  • Experience with Java 8 and higher versions.
  • Experience in multi-location teams.
  • Functional Product Experience with Financial Markets.
  • Project coordination skills.
  • Experience in Agile Way of working, Scrum, etc.
  • PL/SQL knowledge.
