Technical Author

We are seeking a skilled Technical Author to join our Standardization Team at Damen Workboats. As a Technical Author, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining technical documentation that supports our innovative solutions.

• Create high-quality technical documentation, including design philosophies, handbooks, commissioning manuals, and protocols.
• Collaborate with Engineers to develop documentation that explains complex technical solutions to various departments.
• Translate technical drawings into clear and concise manuals, processes, and other documentation.
• Analyze and assess available information to capture relevant content and resources.
• Develop and maintain our writing style guide and contribute to refining it.
• Set up template documents to enable text reuse across various document types.
• Work collaboratively with other Technical Authors within the company.
• Manage your own projects, including planning and budgeting.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Experience as a Technical Author or in a related field.
• Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker and experience with XML, DITA, and CCMS are considered assets.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Dutch.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility in adapting to shifting priorities.
