GIS Developer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled GIS Developer to join our team at HERE Technologies. As a GIS Developer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of our QGIS tool stack and enabling the HERE Content as a self-serve experience for GIS users.

• Collaborate with the development team to contribute to our QGIS tool stack.
• Develop a product that enables the HERE Content as a self-serve experience for GIS users.
• Work on the extension of a prominent OSS GIS tool to enable further capabilities for map making and working with maps.

• Student looking for an internship in an intercultural engineering team of map makers.
• Background in computer science, geo information science, geography, or any related science.
• Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Practical programming skills in Python, SQL, and web development.
• Familiarity with geospatial data formats like GeoJSON, GeoParquet, and GeoPackage.
• Excited to use theoretical background to develop user-friendly software solutions in close contact with users and integrating their feedback to improve the software.
• Motivated, critical thinker, and problem solver to make things happen.

We are open to hiring in Germany (Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin), Netherlands (Eindhoven), and Poland (Krakow).

For Germany, it is a 20hrs/week contract for 6 months for a working student or for 40 hours/week for an Internship (only if it is mandatory)/Master Thesis for 3-6 months.

For Krakow, it can be for 3 months for 40hrs/week or for 6 months for 20hrs/week.
