Job Title: Business Financial Controller



Job Summary

The Business Financial Controller is a key member of the Finance team at ISA, reporting directly to the Business Office Manager. As a strategic partner, the Financial Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of ISA's financial transactions, ensuring compliance with Dutch accounting standards. This role involves overseeing the financial administration, ensuring timely and accurate financial data, and providing high-quality support to the management team.

Key Responsibilities


  • Closing Coordination:

    • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless closing activities, including AR, AP, prepaid, and other financial transactions.
    • Work with the Finance Director to streamline closing processes and establish a clear departmental rhythm.
    • Ensure accurate closing of tangible fixed assets and question accounts in AFAS.


  • Debtors Credit Control:

    • Monitor collections and cash flow, reviewing and reconciling receipts to ensure accuracy.
    • Work on revenue recognition, allocating income from extra activities to the correct accounts.


  • Accounts Payable:

    • Review and control payment batches to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Address issues with the scanning system (Whitevision) and assist with the implementation of new Purchase to Pay (P2P) and order management systems.


  • Petty Cash Accounting:

    • Process cash payments and expenses, maintaining a sufficient balance and ensuring secure storage.


  • Financial Reporting:

    • Support the preparation of expenses and cost center allocations for Operational Budget and Capex.
    • Help build financial reporting from AFAS, mapping GL accounts for P&L and BS.
    • Assist with cash flow movement reporting and planning.


  • Audit:

    • Coordinate and support year-end financial audits, working with different departments to address requests.




Requirements


  • Education:

    • Degree at HBO (college level) or higher.
    • Preferably a degree in finance at HBO (college) level.


  • Experience:

    • At least 5-7 years of experience in financial controlling, audit, and/or overall finance administration, preferably in an international setting.


  • Skills:

    • Fluency in English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
    • General knowledge of Dutch (accounting) laws and regulations.
    • Awareness of finance best practices and excellent communication skills.


  • Software:

    • Experience with accounting software (AFAS) and MS Office (particularly Excel) and Google sheets.
