Job Description

This role is based at The Hague Marriott but offers exposure to our entire European/UK portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing timely and professional responses to guest inquiries regarding property facilities, services, and room accommodations via phone and email.
  • Auditing the accurate input of reservations (manual input and reservation checks of direct bookings).
  • Completing arrival checks to ensure guest preferences have been applied, upsell opportunities have been exploited, and reservation information is accurate.
  • Maintaining effective communication with operations teams and ensuring all relevant information is passed on correctly.
  • Focusing on sales techniques to maximize revenue and understanding customer needs to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Adopting a sales attitude: identifying sales leads for on-property sales teams, confidently converting reservations requests, and identifying upsell opportunities across channels.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient handling of customer queries to maximize satisfaction.
  • Maintaining effective communication systems within the department to serve guests and other departments.
  • Attending meetings, training sessions, courses, and workshops available.
  • Maintaining a neat and tidy working environment.
  • Adhering to Company policies and procedures.
  • Complying with health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Being available to work outside normal office hours as required.
  • Undertaking reasonable duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated individual with:

  • Previous experience as a reservations agent or similar role in the hotel industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch proficiency is preferred but not required. Additional language skills are an asset.
  • Hands-on mentality, ability to multitask, and work independently with strong time-management skills.
  • An eye for detail and eagerness to go the extra mile.
  • Previous experience with Opera and/or Marriott's Reservations system is strongly preferred.
  • A high school diploma; a degree in hospitality or a related field would be advantageous.
  • A person who connects well with others and embodies our mission statement: treasured places, treasured moments.

Estimated Salary Range

€45,000 - €60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
