We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Professor in Performance and Technology to join our team at Universiteit Utrecht. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of performance and technology research and education.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and develop courses in performance and technology, including BA and MA level programs
- Conduct research in performance and technology, with a focus on critical approaches and new research methods
- Supervise individual student projects, including internships and theses
- Contribute to the research agenda of media and culture studies and participate in research collaboration within the department and beyond
- PhD in the Humanities with a research focus on performance/theatre/dance studies
- Demonstrable expertise in theatre/dance/performance and technology, with an interest in cognition
- Relevant teaching experience on BA and MA level, including performance and dance analysis, history of theatre, dance and performance, dramaturgy, scenography, choreography, embodied knowledge
- Experience in supervising individual thesis projects on BA and MA level
- Active and ambitious researcher with output that reflects this
- Demonstrable ability and ambition to obtain external research grants
- Demonstrable ability and ambition in outreach, interprofessional collaboration, and challenge-driven education or research
- Experience in setting up and coordinating courses
- Strong team worker and capable of multidisciplinary collaboration
- Dutch Basic Teaching Qualification, or willingness to acquire this within the first two years
- Fluency in Dutch and English, preferably close to near-native standard
- Employment contract for 12 months with the prospect of a permanent employment contract
- Working week of 38 hours and a gross monthly salary between €4,332,- and €5,929,- in the case of full-time employment
- 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus
- Pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible terms of employment
