In various projects, clients increasingly seek solutions for land conservation and enhancement of biodiversity. As a result, you will often be involved early in the planning stages with the project team, contributing ideas on how we can add value through advanced biodiversity measures. For instance, in a recent project, we connected habitats with wildlife crossings and innovative animal passage systems. In another initiative, we developed a comprehensive wildlife tunnel to protect various species. Additionally, we focus on local and regional roadways with green-blue connections and flowering verges. Your role is to ensure that ecological measures align seamlessly with our operations as a contractor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within project teams from proposal to management, ensuring that ecological considerations are consistently integrated into plans and decisions.
• Observe and advise on-site regarding how we can provide added value to clients through appropriate ecological measures.
• Facilitate connections with specialized agencies or firms when necessary.
• Share knowledge and experience with fellow ecologists to optimally contribute to creating healthy environments.
• Optionally apply your expertise in project teams focused on area development or residential construction.

You will be part of a dedicated team of 10 specialists, forming the Ecological team, the green conscience of Heijmans. This is a welcoming, open, and eager-to-learn group with a diverse mix of backgrounds and experiences. Every week, we gather to share insights at our office, inspiring one another and enriching our collective knowledge. Additionally, you will frequently meet project colleagues during team-building events.

• A gross monthly salary ranging from € 5,400 to € 7,000, depending on your education and experience;

Your Profile

You understand that not every experienced project leader, site manager, or design manager in the construction industry inherently prioritizes environmental considerations. You know how to effectively communicate the importance and necessity of Heijmans' sustainability strategy to them. With clear verbal and written communication, you articulate your findings and recommendations. By fostering connections and strong collaborations, you achieve impactful results. Additionally, you possess:

• A bachelor's degree;
• At least 8 years of relevant experience as an (project) ecologist;
• Knowledge of Dutch ecology and the Environmental Act regarding species protection.
