We are seeking an experienced Lead Model Risk Manager to join our global Model Validation department, responsible for the validation of ING's IRRBB, CSRBB and Liquidity Risk models.

About the role

As a Lead Model Risk Manager, you will be part of an energetic and collaborative international team of around 50 qualified professionals from various backgrounds. You will foster a work environment of trust, cooperation, open communications, diversity & inclusion.

The role is based partially at the head office in Amsterdam and partially remotely from home. Our team is part of ING's global Model Risk Management department, responsible for measuring and managing model risks.

Key responsibilities
  • Assess whether models are fit for the purposes they were designed for, considering business context, academic theories, empirical evidence, regulations, best practices & independent analyses.
  • Evaluate the quality of input data, system implementation, and model performance.
  • Ensure models are appropriate given the evolving business, economic, and regulatory environment.
  • Write high-quality validation reports and discuss results with model developers, senior management, auditors, and the European Central Bank.
