Shimano is seeking a skilled procurement professional to drive cost-effective purchasing of indirect goods and services. As a procurement specialist, you will be responsible for implementing efficient procurement processes, ensuring quality control, and adhering to company policies and procedures.
The Challenge
- Develop and execute RFx processes, market analysis, and negotiation plans to achieve cost savings in indirect procurement categories.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through alternate sourcing and collaborate with stakeholders to implement changes.
- Maintain the ordering management system to ensure smooth business operations and provide support to internal customers.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders, resolving challenges and managing relationships.
- Establish and implement supplier management to ensure contract agreements are met and service performance is maintained.
- Evaluate suppliers and their performance on a regular basis.
- Recommend optimization of the supplier portfolio from a quantitative and qualitative perspective.
- Contribute to business process improvement and organizational development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.
- NEVI 1 + 2 certification is a plus.
- Experience with procurement of indirect procurement categories is an advantage.
- Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills, both internal and external.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Travel may be required for this position.
