Qualifications: Candidates should hold a master's or doctoral degree in health sciences, bioethics, or humanities, along with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in both research and teaching. A proven record in teaching bioethics or medical ethics, as well as significant experience in curriculum innovation and development, is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with undergraduate students are crucial. Experience in the local healthcare sector is advantageous.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and delivery of the MBBS medical ethics and law curriculum, which may include both in-person and online instruction. Additionally, the appointee will contribute to the ongoing development of a cohesive and contextually relevant framework for medical ethics education, integrating relevant content across various areas of the MBBS curriculum.
Innovative Teaching: In light of the evolving landscape of higher education, the appointee will be tasked with developing innovative teaching and learning strategies, including the incorporation of educational technologies. They will also assist in creating assessment tasks and examination questions as needed, and support the design of faculty development and student engagement initiatives related to medical ethics.
Compensation: A competitive salary will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience, alongside annual leave and medical benefits. The salary tax rate is capped at 15% of gross income. The position includes a contract-end gratuity and a university contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, amounting to up to 15% of the basic salary.
