Within the Sensors Mechanics group, we are seeking a skilled opto-mechanical design engineer to contribute to the development of sensors that ensure precise positioning of wafer stages in cutting-edge ASML machinery. These opto-mechanical sensors must achieve sub-nanometer stability and exceptional accuracy, necessitating a sophisticated understanding of precision engineering, thermal dynamics, material behavior, opto-mechanics, and high-precision manufacturing.
Role Responsibilities
- Assume ownership and manage designs for highly accurate and stable opto-mechanical modules in collaboration with a specialized team in a multidisciplinary project framework.
- Oversee the mechanical design of opto-mechanical systems while closely collaborating with other teams, including physics and EDEV, and interfacing with various projects such as Scanner, Wafer Stage, Level Sensor, Alignment, Reticle Stage, Dose Control, and Optics Life Time.
- Establish planning and prioritization within the project scope.
- Contribute to the specification, qualification, and implementation of designs.
- Take responsibility for the introduction and execution of your design.
- Manage the complete portfolio of technical product documentation.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in mechanical (precision) engineering or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant experience is essential.
- Experience in a design capacity within a complex technical setting and familiarity with the V-model.
- In-depth knowledge of precision engineering, opto-mechanics, static and dynamic load cases, constraint design, and high-precision alignment.
- Proficient CAD user (preferably NX) and knowledgeable about PLM systems.
- Familiarity with the ASML D&E Way-of-Working is advantageous.

Position Context
The individual in this role will report to the group leader of Sensors Mechanics within the Design Foundation, Sensors & Simulations department of the Mechanical Development cluster.
