We are seeking a highly skilled Maritime Technical Specialist to join our team in Papendrecht, Netherlands. As a key member of our Fleet Management department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and modifying our fleet of over 600 vessels and auxiliary equipment.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of our vessels in close cooperation with the crew on board. You will also report technical and operational performance and provide input to optimize the ships.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize the performance of the vessels in close cooperation with the crew on board.
- Report technical and operational performance and provide input to optimize the ships.
- Support with acute technical problems on board.
- Evaluate and maintain the scope of planned ship repairs (ongoing repairs, damage, and modifications).
- Follow up on the exploitation of assigned vessels, ensuring correct cost allocation.
- Implement and monitor general technical and safety standards, reporting on potential improvements for colleague and local area safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Requirements
- A higher vocational education degree in mechanical engineering, maritime technology, or similar qualification.
- No less than five years' experience as a technical superintendent, inspector, or chief engineer.
- Technical and operational project knowledge.
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations and fleet management systems like Maximo.
- An excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to travel frequently within Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East.
