Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Weir Minerals Netherlands. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for working on a thesis project in the direction of CFD modelling of flow through a valve and MATLAB modelling of pressure pulsation in fluids.

About the Project

The project will be conducted as a Master thesis and requires full-time commitment from the candidate. The student is expected to be currently enrolled in a Dutch University in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field. Fluency in English language, both verbally and in writing, is essential.

About the Department

The VTG (Venlo Technology Group) hosts all innovation projects and provides support for all other departments within the organization. We remain accountable from request through delivery to aftercare and support within service trajectories. Weir Minerals Netherlands functions as a knowledge hub for displacement pump technology and high-pressure grinding rollers within the Weir Group.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Dutch University in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field
  • Fluency in English language, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Cradle CFD or MATLAB is a plus
  • Analytical person with a problem-solving mindset
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment
