Job Summary:The Naval Architecture Lead Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the expertise and knowledge within the Naval Architectural discipline, as well as taking on project roles. This includes ensuring that knowledge and expertise are maintained and expanded to deliver high-quality and cost-effective designs of SBM products, particularly focusing on SBM's FPSOs products.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the maintenance and expansion of knowledge and expertise within the Naval Architectural discipline.
- Take on project roles as a Discipline Lead Engineer (DLE), responsible for project management functions in leading the discipline.
- Lead a team of up to 3-4 Naval Architects and additional designer/drafters.
- Develop and implement designs for SBM products, with a focus on FPSOs.
- Collaborate with related disciplines, including Marine systems, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process & Technical Safety.
- Familiarize yourself with rules of classification societies and international organizations, as well as proper implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policies.
- MSc or BSc degree or equivalent in Naval Architecture.
- At least 7 years of relevant working experience, preferably with SBM.
- In-depth experience and sound technical knowledge of Naval Architecture in both conceptual and detailed design.
- Preferably experience in Engineering & Design and/or Operation of floating & production units (FSO's, FPSO's, Oil & Gas and Chemical tankers, Drilling Units, Semi's, TLP) for the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Good interface knowledge with related disciplines.
- Familiar with rules of classification societies and international organizations.
