European Property Development Director

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our European Property Development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the growth of our property portfolio, building and maintaining relationships with developers and consultancies, and representing DP World externally on all property development matters.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability program for DP World's European property portfolio, ensuring alignment with our corporate goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development of our regional organization's overall sustainability strategy, focusing on property development and management.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to reduce property costs through effective leveraging of our commercial strength and relationships with brokers and landlords.
  • Manage relationships with landlords, brokers, developers, and other real estate partners to secure optimal terms and conditions for our development projects.
  • Take the lead property role in all new bids and RFQs, evaluating property needs and advising the wider team on strategy and costs.
  • Partner with internal teams to drive large-scale real estate development projects, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Negotiate complex real estate transactions, including leases and agreements, to secure favorable terms for DP World.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and support their real estate requirements, preparing and presenting real estate strategies and proposals to senior leaders.
  • Provide expert property advice and market knowledge to customers and potential customers, supporting RFQ pitches and delivering tailored solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate Management or a related field, with a post-graduate degree in business or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in European property lease negotiation, with a commercial or retail market background.
  • Proven ability to work closely with senior management within customer organizations, with fluency in German and English, and additional languages a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to perform site audits and engage with stakeholders.
