Nouvall Engineering Services B.V. is a leading provider of project support services for the (petro) chemical and maritime industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Subcontract Administrator to join our team at our construction site in Antwerp.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering several construction contracts, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument Works. Key responsibilities will include:
- Participating in kick-off meetings to inform subcontractors about administration procedures
- Reviewing and approving contractor progress payment certificates
- Reviewing and negotiating contractor additional compensation requests
- Organizing weekly subcontracting meetings and issuing meeting notes
- Approving unit rate accounting and preambles
- Ensuring extra works, claims, back charges, and close-out of contracts are performed in accordance with the Project Subcontract Administration Procedure
- Updating the Subcontract Administration Report
- Monitoring official correspondence and informing the subcontract administration manager of critical issues
- Drafting letters to reply to contractors and sending them to the subcontract administration manager for review
- Following up on insurances and bank guarantees
- Ensuring all contract, unit rate accounting, and RWE documents are properly filed and in auditable conditions
- Drafting Contract Revisions to formalize extra works
- Assisting the subcontract administration manager in evaluating claims, assessing, and following up until final settlement and issue of the settlement agreement
- Assisting in resolving disputes with contractors about contractor's contractual obligations and participating in claim meetings
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- An Engineer or technical degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Subcontracts and Subcontract Administration at site for Chemical and Oil & Gas industries
- Very good level of written and spoken English, with Dutch being a plus
- Good experience in MS Office programs, including complex Excel files
- Very good communication and leadership skills
- Experience working in an integrated team on complex projects
- Ability to supervise one or more Subcontracts Specialists
- Eligibility to work in Belgium
- Availability to work at a construction site
