Technical Lead for Frontend Development in E-commerce

We are constantly modernizing, and we're looking for a seasoned Senior Frontend Developer to join our team at Tiqets.com. If you have good technical skills and experience in e-commerce products, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you'll be working on our Web platform, contributing to how our customers and partners experience our website. Your primary focus will be ensuring the main website is fast, especially on mobile devices. You'll keep the codebase clean and maintainable, collaborating closely with the product owner, designer, and back-end engineers of your team.

We work in an agile way, learning from customer needs and adapting to them. Here are some real examples of recent projects that might give you an idea of what you'd do:

  • Implementing a new checkout flow.
  • Maintaining a library of reusable components across different applications and domains.
  • Executing a migration of our monolithic codebase to a front-end monorepo with Nx.
  • Implementing a new payment flow, complying with the PSD2 mandate.
  • Planning and executing A/B tests.
  • Managing technical debt and ensuring its timely resolution.
  • Collaborating with the operations team to create new pipelines in Gitlab CI for our frontend.

Tiqets is always innovating, and here are some future tasks you might tackle:

  • Building standalone front-ends while maintaining shared features on our monolithic platform.
  • Improving our monorepos pipeline to accelerate development.
  • Creating a Datadog dashboard to monitor errors and performance for newly created front-ends.

This is just a sample of what we do, but your experience and background will help shape the tasks you'll handle.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their tasks, becomes an expert in their area, and shares knowledge with the team. Our ideal candidate has professional engineering experience, possibly leading teams, and has developed for different platforms and device sizes. Most of our traffic is mobile, so performance and ease of use are crucial.

We expect you to have experience with Typescript, React, and Sass, as well as willingness to learn Flask, Django, and Jinja. Living in the Netherlands or EU is preferred (hybrid). We offer a competitive salary of approximately €100,000 per year, depending on your background and experience.
