About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at CPM Europe. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and startup of our industrial machinery and systems at client sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to client sites to inspect installations and commission machinery in production lines
  • Verify that equipment has been installed correctly and perform mechanical, electrical, and control testing under CPM installation guidelines
  • Ensure safe operation of CPM equipment and systems, meeting contractual requirements for production capacity and product quality
  • Follow and record machinery details using company installation and test checklists and procedures
  • Resolve problems that occur during setup and provide progress reports to various departments
  • Attend site project meetings and complete commissioning reports and handover protocols
  • Evaluate installation work using drawings, electrical diagrams, and process documentation
  • Verify spare parts, machinery, and tools are available, as well as customer-installed fittings
  • Check machine or production line assembly and ensure correct installation of connections and systems
  • Advise and delegate tasks to customer technicians and on-site workers as needed
  • Start-up and perform test runs of machines or production lines, assisting with production capacity tests as required
  • Resolve problems found during installation, startup testing, and production test runs on site
  • Transfer knowledge of machines, installation, use, and maintenance to client teams
Requirements
  • MBO or University degree, and 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • One or more European languages as a mother tongue, with English to a high standard
  • Strong mechanical mind and mechanical educational background, with basic knowledge of industrial electrical installations and control systems
  • Practical experience with mechanical operation and maintenance of heavy industrial machinery, coupled with basic working knowledge of electric motor drive and electrical control systems
  • Ability to understand operational and maintenance manuals and mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
  • Experience working with different mechanical gearboxes and associated systems (electronic, hydraulic, air pressure, electrical engineering)
  • Ability to communicate with clients and internal organization to achieve a good outcome for both parties
  • Ability to understand customer production processes and have knowledge of materials to analyze and resolve problems/failures
  • Ability to systematically analyze issues occurring during work
  • Knowledge of applicable ARBO (safety, health, and welfare), environmental regulations, and Working Hours Act for safe working in industrial environments
  • Ability to take necessary safety precautions
  • Regular international travel within Europe, with ability to work alone at multinational industrial site locations
  • Ability to overcome language and cultural barriers
  • Must have rights to live and work in Northern Europe, as CPM is not providing visa sponsorship for this role
