Overview

At HSD Campus, we are committed to advancing the field of programmable networking. Our research focuses on developing a self-optimizing network service infrastructure that leverages open networking and cloud technologies. This internship will delve into the cutting-edge of programmable network telemetry, exploring its potential to enhance the monitoring and optimization of end-to-end performance for sophisticated network services.

Role Responsibilities

As an intern, you will collaborate closely with your supervisor to determine your specific contributions to our research initiatives. Potential tasks include:

  • Developing smart switch programming or enhancing cloud applications to generate telemetry data,
  • Creating a telemetry data exchange framework between different administrative domains,
  • Integrating data from various sources and constructing an analytics pipeline, or
  • Designing a reasoning system that interprets telemetry data to recommend and implement network reconfigurations for optimal service levels.

You will be part of a project team comprising approximately five researchers, including your supervisor and potentially another intern.

Expectations

We seek candidates who are nearing completion of their degree in communication networks, computer science, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or a related field. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A keen interest in exploring programmable network technologies,
  • Proficiency in programming, Linux systems, and/or data analysis,
  • A pragmatic approach focused on practical implementation.
