We are seeking your expertise to contribute to the design and engineering efforts that elevate our capabilities and enhance the efficiency of some of the world's most sophisticated offshore equipment.

Your Responsibilities

Within the Innovations division, the Structural, Mechanical, and Geotechnical department is tasked with delivering engineered solutions that sustain and improve Allseas' fleet and its equipment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary mechanical team specializing in mechanical-hydraulic systems. This team focuses on optimizing current mechanical equipment integrated with hydraulic systems for drive and control, as well as developing new hydraulic systems. Projects may include winches, launch and recovery systems, skidding systems, pipelay equipment, and track drives, often featuring unique capabilities that challenge technological limits.

You will oversee ongoing projects and their priorities, maintaining regular communication with work package lead engineers and other stakeholders to ensure effective planning and task distribution. Your role will involve gathering requirements, performing detailed analyses, simulations, and testing to validate designs, ensuring compliance with performance, quality standards, and safety regulations. You will lead design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving initiatives, collaborating with your team and reviewing the work of System Integrators.

You possess a deep understanding of what is required to develop mechanical drive systems. Your resourcefulness and solution-oriented mindset enable you to work independently while taking ownership of your responsibilities. You have the ability to grasp complex systems' concepts and technical details and thrive in a dynamic, creative environment.

Additionally, you should have:

  • A BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of relevant experience in the offshore industry, including experience in a lead (project) engineer, senior mechanical engineer, or senior hydraulics engineer role.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical and hydraulic system engineering, with an understanding of other engineering disciplines such as electrical, functional safety, and control & automation.
  • Experience across various project phases, from concept development to commissioning on vessels.
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor).
  • Experience with Hydrosym is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to work offshore as required by project demands.
