UAV Quality Engineer Job Description

At Destinus, we're pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology to make distance a thing of the past. As a UAV Quality Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our near-space vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and control systems to ensure efficient production of high-quality UAVs.
  • Oversee the inspection and testing of UAV components and finished products to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Implement rigorous testing protocols to assess manufacturing accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Investigate quality issues and defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, analyzing metrics to track performance and identify trends.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance activities and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, procurement, and production teams to integrate quality into every stage of product manufacturing.
  • Conduct regular audits of UAV products and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry certifications.
Requirements:
  • Location: Hengelo area (NL)
  • Domestic and International travel required
  • Security clearance may be required depending on project nature
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, quality engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience in UAV quality manufacturing or components, with a strong understanding of production, maintenance, and ERP systems
  • Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards, environment regulations, regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations associated with aerial military vehicles
  • English as primary working language; other languages highly valued
Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Cross-functional working ability to collaborate with internal and external teams
