Role Summary
The primary role of the Supply Chain Planner is to strategize on fulfilling product demand while achieving our operational and business objectives. This includes timely product delivery, cost reduction in manufacturing, and meeting profitability targets. Our supply planning team is responsible for crafting and executing a supply strategy that optimizes inventory levels, production timelines, and supplier partnerships. The ultimate aim is to enhance supply chain efficiency and align it with market demand, thereby maximizing working capital and making informed inventory decisions.
Each Global Supply Chain Planner collaborates closely with local plants and their respective supply chain teams. The Global Planner establishes overarching production strategies and dynamically adjusts target stock levels to meet anticipated demand, while local teams manage immediate operational factors such as production changes, equipment failures, and other disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Oversight: Ensure optimal inventory levels that balance carrying costs with service level expectations.
- Supply Strategy Development: Formulate and implement supply strategies that guarantee product availability across the global network, focusing on manufacturing cost optimization and maximizing production output.
- Supplier Engagement: Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with external manufacturers to secure favorable terms and ensure consistent supply.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with local supply chain teams, finance, and product managers to synchronize supply chain strategies with broader business goals. Collaborate with project managers, demand planners, and logistics teams within the global supply chain.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and execute process improvements and system upgrades to boost efficiency and reduce supply chain costs. Ensure that planning parameters, such as safety stock levels and lead times, are current.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks that could disrupt the supply chain and lead stakeholders through any supply crises. Model various scenarios and propose optimized solutions based on fluctuating demand and supply conditions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Leverage supply chain data to create insightful reports and analytics that inform decision-making and track performance. Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as necessary.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or analytical roles, ideally within multinational corporations.
- Proficiency in advanced supply chain planning software and tools (e.g., OMP, SAP).
- Ambitious and eager to learn and grow professionally.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a knack for interpreting data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration across various organizational levels.
- Ability to positively influence the global supply network and deliver precision in critical supply planning details.
- Financial insight to optimize costs and enhance profitability.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a keen attention to detail.
- Fluency in English.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as APICS (CSCP, CDPP).
- Understanding of the Business to Business Ingredients market and its complexities, particularly in the (bio)chemical sector.
- Knowledge of supply chain financials.
