Financial Controller

Experienced Financial Controller required to excel in our headquarters in Eindhoven. We need you to be accurate behind the figures as well as having the ability to interact and network within the business.
- You will be required to visit various sites building your presence and visibility with your colleagues and stakeholders.
- Monday to Friday – 40 hours a week
- Hybrid working applies – 3 days in office, 2 days from home (100% office based if preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger accounts including the determination of journal entry requirements and preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Apply working knowledge of Dutch/US GAAP and related guidance.
- Conduct preliminary review of financial reports prior to final close of general ledger.
- Conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations and other financial controls in compliance with company policy.
- Perform analysis of financial results as part of the financial and operational review process.
- Research questions for management; investigate and explain variances to expectations.
- Understand and maintain assigned account/transaction or process from inception through approval, measurement, recording, reporting, and monitoring.
- Participate in cross-functional work teams and continuously improve GXO Logistics processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial reporting by auditing entries against financial activity and verifying that results are properly reported.
- Continually look to reduce company costs and spend associated with related responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
- Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance generally required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, or training.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a large, multi-component company and in preparing and auditing complex financial reports.
- System knowledge should include intermediate knowledge of Oracle general ledger or fixed assets, spreadsheet skills, and working knowledge of word processing, e-mail, and financial database applications.
- Fluent in English and basic Dutch would be preferred.
