Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team as a PhD researcher in theoretical computer science. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, and a demonstrated ability to carry out cutting-edge research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct original research in the field of theoretical computer science, with a focus on coding theory.
  • Develop and implement new algorithms and techniques for solving complex problems in coding theory.
  • Collaborate with other researchers to advance the state-of-the-art in coding theory.
  • Present research findings at top-level conferences and publish in peer-reviewed international journals.
  • Assist in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and guide student theses at the BSc or MSc level.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong scientific interest in the theory of computing, and particularly in coding theory.
  • Excellent academic performance in university-level courses in computer science, mathematics, and other related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out cutting-edge research.
  • Professional command of English and good presentation skills.

What We Offer

A temporary contract for 38 hours per week for the duration of 4 years, with a gross monthly salary ranging from €2, in the first year to €3, in the last year (scale P). We also offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.

Additionally, we offer multiple fringe benefits, including holiday hours per year, extra holidays between Christmas and 1 January, and the possibility to set up a workplace at home.
