The Role

As a Systems Requirements Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying and managing customer requirements for naval shipbuilding projects. You will capture and analyze customer wishes, ensuring clear and functional specifications for processes and products. Your expertise will be essential in verifying and validating requirements, ensuring compliance with customer contractual requirements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Capture and analyze customer requirements in the requirements management tool (DOORS).
  • Establish and safeguard requirements baselines and traceable changes.
  • Analyze and decompose requirements for use by engineering teams, supporting the establishment of clear functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Participate in making formulated requirements smart, consistent, and identify conflicting requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with project engineers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are well-known, can be fulfilled, and verified.
  • Structure functional and non-functional requirements for specific work packages, either internally or through outsourcing/subcontracting.
  • Maintain the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM), ensuring the Verification & Validation plan is effectively executed.
  • Create and distribute reports documenting the status and progress of requirements verification and validation activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Systems Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or an equivalent relevant technical field.
  • Common sense, logical process thinking, and agility with digital tools.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, especially in Requirements Management and Verification & Validation.
  • Affinity or experience with Engineering processes.
  • Experience working in internationally oriented complex development projects, with a matrix organizational structure.
