Application Engineering Support Specialist

We are seeking an Engineering Applications Support Consultant to join our team at Thales Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for continuously improving and maintaining the engineering environment for our Hardware Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:- Setting up and maintaining Engineering applications on Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows
- Developing automation using Ansible on Windows and Linux
- Acting as a link between IT and Engineering departments
- Introducing new technologies to benefit the support-team
- Collaborating with teams responsible for other engineering domains
- Focusing primarily on the technical aspects of the applications
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Powershell and Python
- Taking an active role in supporting engineers with various Hardware engineering tools
- Providing technical support of hardware engineering applications
- Implementing IT security best practices
- Working together with teams responsible for other Engineering domains
We are looking for a new colleague with:
- A (technical) bachelor or master degree; e.g. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Design, ITSM or similar
- Experience with the use and setup of complex tooling in a dynamic environment
- Experience with administration of systems on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows
- Ideally experience with one or more of the following engineering domains: FPGA design, Board design, RFe, Electrical- and Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with managing network technologies and routing/connection problem-solving
- A customer-oriented attitude and good communication skills
- Problem solving and coordination skills
- A good command of both English and Dutch, both verbal and written
