Position Overview: We are in search of a dedicated Protein Scientist based in Utrecht.
Role Summary: This position is ideal for a proficient Protein Specialist who will be part of the protein and plant-based division within a global specialized nutrition organization. Your contributions will focus on the research and development of plant-derived proteins, examining their techno-functional characteristics and their behavior throughout formulation and processing stages.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in protein science, with experience in protein applications specifically in beverages. If you are looking to elevate your career within a leading food organization and are available for a temporary assignment, this could be the right fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experimental Design: Develop and implement experiments concerning food protein ingredients and final product matrices, taking into account functionality, stability, molecular characteristics, and ingredient interactions.
- Data Analysis: Interpret experimental data, derive insights, and contribute to scientific documentation.
- Project Oversight: Manage project timelines to ensure that milestones are achieved.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication with stakeholders to report findings and align on subsequent actions.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to two team members.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow Protein team members and other groups within the Advanced Technology division to share expertise and foster innovation.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Protein Science with a focus on plant protein functionality and characterization.
- Experience in protein applications within the beverage sector.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience post-Ph.D.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw significant conclusions.
- Proficient in project management, capable of meeting deadlines and coordinating tasks effectively.
- Self-motivated and independent with clear communication skills.
- Fluency in English is essential.
Compensation:
Through our agency, you will be offered a temporary contract lasting 6 months. There is potential for contract renewal or a direct offer from our client, although this cannot be guaranteed.
- Monthly salary is approximately €6300 gross for a full-time position (40 hours per week), determined by your education and experience.
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
- Pension plan included.
