The General Ledger Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the integrity of financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role involves managing a small team and requires a strong analytical mindset.

Position Requirements

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an accounting role is essential.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting capabilities.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Supervision of one team member.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in auditing is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Ability to foster relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operational personnel.
  • Capability to work independently in resolving complex issues.
  • A strong team player who is highly motivated and can perform under pressure during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting analysis on financial data to ensure accuracy in revenue and cost allocation.
  • Managing General Ledger financial data, including accruals, deferred costs, reclassifications, and intercompany/interdepartmental entries, along with report preparation.
  • Reconciling General Ledger accounts.
  • Performing monthly account analyses to verify the correctness of journal entries and balances.
  • Collecting supporting documentation and maintaining records.
  • Ensuring all journal entries for month-end close are finalized within the designated deadlines.
  • Reconciling and settling intercompany balances.
  • Ensuring compliance of financial information with applicable standards.
  • Aligning General Ledger accounting practices to support budgeting processes.
  • Assisting with audit procedures.
  • Engaging in other activities related to financial reporting.
