Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our IT Department in an international environment. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in setting up a cutting-edge Data Analytics & Business Intelligence (BI) platform in collaboration with our trusted partner.

• Design and implement a robust and scalable Data platform, leveraging Spark, Azure, Power BI & Tableau.
• Develop efficient pipelines to extract, transform & load data from various sources into the Data Platform.
• Optimize and fine-tune data models, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the platform.
• Design and develop data integration solutions to enable seamless data flow between different systems.
• Support business by delivering an unified data catalog to understand data and data products.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Daily monitoring of data processing, troubleshooting and performance tuning to ensure optimal platform performance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven 3 – 5 (or more) years working experience as a Data Engineer, working on medium to large-scale projects.
• Strong expertise in Spark and Azure services like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure SQL, with a solid understanding of datawarehouse and datalakehouse concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, and SQL, for data manipulation / transformation.
• Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with data modeling like Kimball, ELT/ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• You are willing to carry out (planned) work outside regular office hours as well as to participate in our on call duty to support our organization in case of emergencies.
