Piping Engineering Role Overview

Nouvall Engineering Services B.V. is a leading provider of project support services to the (petro) chemical and maritime industry. Our team provides expertise in engineering, project management, maintenance, shutdowns, construction, and safety.

Job Responsibilities


• Support the engineering manager in performance of duties and provide backup as needed.

• Ensure facilities are designed, built, and commissioned in compliance with all relevant statutory and project regulations.

• Collaborate closely with EPC contractor personnel at module fabrication yards and construction sites on piping engineering matters, resolving technical queries in a timely manner.

• Oversee piping engineering design and procurement work performed by EPC contractors and other third-party designers/vendors, providing guidance and ensuring work meets clients' specifications and standards.

• Conduct detailed reviews of EPC contractors' and vendor systems, processes, and procedures, including PEPs, quality plans, and piping aspects.

• Provide piping engineering input into procurement procedures, project supplier lists, contractor/vendor pre-qualification, purchase requisitions, and invitations to tender.

Requirements


• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.

• Ability to define and prioritize issues, then solve problems through networking with team members or external sources.

• Innovative with an eye for identifying opportunities to reduce costs and challenge the status quo.

• Good understanding of business drivers and ability to align design philosophies.

• Broad estimating skills and practical understanding of costs (capital, operating, life cycle).

• Willingness to travel, although the role will be based in Antwerp.

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications


• Major project experience with strong design engineering/procurement background and broad understanding of multiple disciplines and their interfaces.

• Proven track record of delivering leading SHE performance.

• Experience supervising work in a contractor's design office and module fabrication shop.

• Experience with field engineering and/or construction on a major construction site.

• Degree qualified and chartered or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline.

• More than 15 years' experience in an engineering role at an oil and gas or petrochemical setting. Operations experience would be a significant advantage.
