Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Digital Product team for Business Performance (analytics) at IKEA.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, business representatives, and data architects, to understand business and data requirements. They will develop data products to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives, monitor and optimize the performance of data processing systems and infrastructure, and identify bottlenecks to implement optimizations and improve efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities:
  • Document data pipelines, workflows, and system architectures, and provide knowledge sharing and training to enable other team members to understand and utilize data engineering tools and processes effectively.
  • Assess business requirements for completeness and accuracy and determine if requirements are actionable for ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load). Work with business/solution owners to close issues and gaps.
  • Lead the development and validation of data integration (ETL) pipelines needed to ingest/transform data to and from transactional systems and warehouses.
  • Develop communication content (e.g., release notes) in line with the business needs.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of integrating and processing data, including associated data modeling.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of data integration experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of GIT as a source control system.
  • Experience working with Data Bricks & Spark.
  • Experience in ingesting raw files in cloud-native data platforms.
  • Proficiency in authorization models, specifically Azure.
  • Setting up authorization and access control and ensuring that data pipelines are secured.
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and Python.
  • Extensive experience working in agile project environments.
  • Experience in working with building data products on Azure using tools such as Data Bricks and Synapse.
  • Proficiency in building ETL pipelines from structured data sources and data warehousing and big data processing.
  • Extensive knowledge of data management concepts, including technical knowledge in database design, data models, and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, enabling the ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information into well-defined plans and solutions.
Benefits:
  • A competitive salary of €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Full-time role (40 hours per week).
  • Located in Delft, the Netherlands.
