TNO is at the forefront of addressing major social issues in the technical industry, such as structural safety, climate adaptation, and the energy transition. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to contribute to our research efforts in the field of aging infrastructure.
What will be your role?
In this master thesis project, you will focus on developing a rule-based model using knowledge graphs to support prioritization of replacement and renovation decision making for Rijkswaterstaat. This project aims to provide a digital solution to tackle four challenges: aging infrastructure, missing overview of large population of infrastructure objects, scattered data, and limited re-use of existing experiences and knowledge.
What we expect from you
We are looking for a student with a strong background in STEM fields, such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science. You should have a critical and investigative attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Additionally, experience with knowledge graphs, rule-based models, and UI development is highly appreciated.
