Ratings Policy Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and passionate strategist to join our Policy division of the Ratings team at Netflix. As a Ratings Policy Strategist, you will play a critical role in empowering our members with trustworthy ratings guidance to make informed viewing choices for themselves and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide maturity ratings and advisory guidance to Content teams throughout the development of a title - from script to post-launch
- Audit titles for accurate maturity ratings, content advisories, and local sensitivities
- Consult with Content Analysts on the factors that impact a title's rating
- Communicate ratings information and rationale to Content teams, local Product Metadata and Ratings leads, and Public Policy
- Develop, maintain, and explain ratings guidelines
- Advise on the appropriateness of trailers, imagery, and other supplemental materials appearing on-platform
- 5+ years in relevant fields such as global Standards & Practices, Trust & Safety, Content Moderation, Content Strategy, and Policy/Legal Operations
- 4+ years experience in highly cross-functional global roles gaining buy-in, alignment, and context from a variety of stakeholders
- Knowledge of, and adherence to, global ratings boards' standards and requirements
- Experience analyzing, adopting, and adapting government regulations
- Experience with algorithm-assisted and vendor-supported workflows
- Experience crafting policy proposals that require research, data support, rationale, and cross-functional feedback
- Strong judgment and decisiveness when dealing with timely, deadline-driven, content-related issues and concerns
- Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain complex ideas to stakeholders
- Critical thinking, creative problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in the Google Suite, AirTable, and other database/reporting/tracking tools
- Knowledge of cultural context across EMEA
- Proficiency in Arabic, French, Spanish, or German is a plus
- Experience managing content in languages other than English is a plus
