Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Researcher

Genomic monitoring of infectious pathogens has significantly impacted public health by enhancing our understanding of pathogen transmission, evolution, and source identification. Nevertheless, there remains considerable potential for advancing the application of this data to elucidate the genetic determinants of pathogen efficacy and virulence, as well as to conduct predictive modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting phylogenetic, phylodynamic, and pan-genomic investigations
  • Creating and validating machine learning frameworks for predicting the spread of antimicrobial resistance

Qualifications:

  • PhD in bioinformatics or computational sciences
  • Proficient in analyzing extensive microbial genomic datasets and formulating machine learning models
  • Preferred: Experience in metagenomics
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication abilities and adaptability
  • Fluency in English

What We Offer:

  • Position duration of 12 to 16 months with the possibility of extension
  • Competitive gross salary ranging from €3,226 to €5,090
