About the Role

EMEA Recruitment is working exclusively with a well-established, global FMCG company to recruit an experienced Senior VAT Compliance Specialist. This role is part of the company's digital transformation and automation efforts, aimed at evolving its tax compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee VAT compliance obligations across EMEA, ensuring accurate reporting and submission.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Supply Chain, and IT teams to ensure compliance.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of VAT-related settings in ERP systems (SAP or similar).
  • Provide tax guidance on new business initiatives, transactions, and digital transformation projects.
  • Lead internal and external VAT audits, ensuring compliance with EMEA legislation.
  • Assist in ad hoc tax and customs projects to support strategic business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Accounting or audit background preferred; a relevant Accounting qualification is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; additional European language skills are advantageous.
  • Experience in VAT compliance, reporting, and automation within a multinational corporation or a Big 4 tax consultancy firm.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and a strong understanding of tax technology and process improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
