Our Team

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at MasterLab, a distinguished laboratory within the Nutreco Company. Located in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, MasterLab is one of Europe's top laboratories in the field of animal nutrition.

The Role

The Laboratory Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our laboratory facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, exceptional leadership and networking skills, a drive for operational excellence, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for the laboratory and align its operations with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Optimizing laboratory operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and the highest possible quality of services.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing lean methodologies, Six Sigma principles, or other process improvement techniques to streamline laboratory workflows.
  • Establishing a strong safety culture that emphasizes the importance of health and safety throughout the organization.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with other Nutreco labs to foster knowledge sharing, innovation, and operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., animal nutrition, biology, chemistry).
  • Proven track record of leadership and management in a laboratory.
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and experience in process optimization.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to safety and a strong safety record.
  • Financial acumen with budget management experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is essential for this role, given the location and international nature of the organization.
