Job Description

Are you a skilled mechanical engineer looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at VDL ETG Technology & Development, where you will play a crucial role in the design and development of high-tech mechatronic system solutions for leading customers in the semiconductor and medical industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specify and deliver high-tech mechatronic system solutions for new products, working closely with a team of designers and architects.
  • Responsible for achieving optimal functionality and cost-effectiveness of the systems.
  • Lead the development process according to the Product Generation Process (PGP), including feasibility, definition, system design, and production release phases.
  • Contribute to the system road-maps and participate in further developments of critical mechanical competencies.
  • Set priorities within the mechanical team and report routinely to the project manager.
  • Cook and train mechanical engineers.
  • Provide direction to the Way of Working, including the V-model, PGP-process, design reviews, and engineering change process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a mechanical engineer, with a strong background in high-tech systems.
  • Experience with design principles, precise positioning, dynamic behavior, material characteristics, clean room environment, design for reliability, vacuum design rules.
  • Experience in coaching junior and medior mechanical engineers.
  • Experience with planning mechanical development during the complete V-model.
  • Experience with DfX (value engineering, producibility, CoG, reliability, serviceability).
  • Basic knowledge of calculations (FEM) in the area of thermal and mechanical designs.
  • Experience with 3D design tools NX or PRO-E and Teamcenter.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink or related development tools.
