The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled (Senior) Engineer Mechanical to join our operations team. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for steering a small number of subcontractors in preparing the Basic and Detail Engineering package. This role offers the opportunity to work in various fields of your expertise and develop your skills further over time.
Key Responsibilities- Develop design specifications, detail- and work drawings within established procedures and standards;
- Register and archive designs, drawings, and project-related information;
- Conduct structural design and integrate steel outfitting and structures, such as hull doors, stairs, etc.;
- Prepare construction plans and deck arrangements;
- Perform calculations for further elaboration of weights, stability, and structures in the shipbuilding area;
- Conduct feasibility and risk analyses on the initial design;
- Produce order lists and prepare technical specifications for purchase orders based on specifications and planning;
- Support client, Class, and national authorities approval process;
- Support coordination of outsourced work to subcontractors
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- An intermediate degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience;
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English;
- An interest in innovation and an open mindset to new technologies;
- Experience with software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic;
- Experience with Maxsurf or Siemens NX (FEM) is a plus;
- You will enjoy working in a team, be effective at planning and organizing, willing to learn new skills sets, and results-focused;
- Excellent command of the Dutch and English language;
- Availability of 32-40 hours per week
