Postdoctoral Researcher for Digital Finance Position

As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente, you will play a key role in the DIGITAL network, an international Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Industrial Doctoral Network.
The DIGITAL network consists of eight prestigious European universities, six industrial partners, three research centers, and the European Central Bank. Your expertise in Finance will be instrumental in strengthening the network links, participating in individual research projects, and supporting the management team and activities.
One of the primary objectives of the DIGITAL network is to establish Digital Finance as a research field and advance the methodologies and business models for Digital Finance. This will be achieved through five interconnected research objectives:
- Towards a European financial data space, ensuring sufficient data quality to support the EU's efforts in building a single digital market for data;
- Artificial intelligence for financial markets, addressing deployment issues of complex artificial intelligence models for real-world financial problems;
- Towards explainable and fair AI-generated decisions, validating the utility of innovative explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) algorithms for financial applications and extending existing frameworks;
- Driving digital innovations with blockchain applications, designing risk management tools concerning the applications of Blockchain technology in Finance;
- Sustainability of Digital Finance.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be responsible for:
- Supplying expertise to individual research projects carried out at the University of Twente and European-wide activities;
- Supporting the DIGITAL coordinator and the UT team on administrative tasks;
- Collaborating with other researchers at DIGITAL, the DIGITAL coordinator, and the team at the University of Twente;
- Closely working with industrial partners, Doctoral Candidates, and project partners;
- Supporting work packages, such as doctoral training, project management, and the coordinator role, and ensuring research output, financial goals, results, and achievements are met;
- Coodinating and traveling internationally.
Requirements for the position include:
- A PhD in Finance, Computer Science, or any DIGITAL-related field;
- An excellent publication record;
- Good international experience;
- Passion for working in an international environment and collaborating with different partners;
- Fluency in English.
