Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans, including planning and estimation.
  • Review requirements, user stories, and assess risks to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Write test specifications, implement automated test scripts, and review test specifications of colleagues.
  • Execute test cases, analyze test results, and write test reports to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Provide independent and substantiated release advice to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Initiate and support product quality improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead test activities at software and system levels to ensure seamless integration.
  • Align testing and test automation across the group, across sites to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Design and implement automated and manual test cases to ensure comprehensive testing.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate sprint-based test automation team activities via the backlog to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and hands-on assistance to other members of the team to ensure knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Act as the entry point for system-level test automation-related issues to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Identify and follow up on opportunities to improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor other test engineers in test automation methodologies and alignment to overall testing strategy to ensure knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Identify issues/bottlenecks in the infrastructure domain of the test environment to ensure seamless testing.
Requirements
  • Agile attitude and strong communication skills to ensure effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience with Python or relevant test automation technologies to ensure efficient testing.
  • Experience with tool chain that includes Jira, Git, Jenkins to ensure seamless integration.
  • Good understanding of test processes, methodologies, and standards, preferably underpinned by an ISTQB certification to ensure high-quality testing.
  • Risk-based testing to improve test resource usage efficiency and apply the most suitable test technique.
  • Strong communication and management skills to ensure effective leadership and collaboration.
  • Well-structured way of working to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Eagerness/drive to get results (also from others) within project timelines to ensure timely delivery.
  • Combination of orderliness and technical skills to ensure seamless testing.

  • Basic experience in programming or scripting (preferably Python) to ensure efficient testing.
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required due to the high degree of interaction to ensure effective collaboration and teamwork.
