Immersion Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Immersion Engineer to join our team for the Fehmarn Belt Tunnel Project. As an Immersion Engineer, you will be responsible for participating in the team responsible for floating up and/or hoisting the approx. 90 concrete tunnel elements, equipping them in the port, and then transporting and installing them at sea.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the preparation of the immersion operation, including making ballast plans.
- Assist the Immersion Master in offshore operations, providing technical advice.
- Take part in the interface management with other departments within FLC regarding specific parts of the T&I scope.
- Coordinate part of the design scope between Work Preparations and the design team based in the Netherlands.
- Ensure the conclusions and results from the design documents are correctly taken over in the work method statements, drawings, and operation manuals for the Immersion Pontoon specific operations related to the overall transport and immersion scope.
- Liaise with the Marine Warranty Surveyor and contribute to the work procedures, Go/No Go procedures.
- Advise during the transport and installation of the elements, and monitor the immersion process.
- Conduct checks during execution and create lessons learned for next operations.
- Qualified civil engineer (expertise in hydrodynamics) or naval architect/maritime engineer with minimum of 7 years experience.
- Prior experience with immersion of large structures or offshore lifting operations.
- Good understanding of stability calculations, mooring calculations, and hydrodynamics.
- Hands-on problem solver, not afraid of taking decisions.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
The Fehmarn Belt Tunnel is one of Europe's largest infrastructure projects, and will become the world's largest immersed tunnel. You will be located in Denmark, and will work closely with the project team in Denmark and the design team from BAM Infraconsult based in the Netherlands.
What We Offer- Based salary: 5250.00 - 5750.00 gross per month, depending on age and experience.
