We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant to join our team in the Division of Cardiology. The successful candidate will work closely with our researchers to contribute to ongoing projects on gene-editing, biomedical engineering, and other therapeutic approaches for cardiovascular disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research projects in collaboration with the Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Health, Center for Translational Stem Cell Biology, and Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre.
- Contribute to the development of new therapeutic approaches against cardiovascular disorders and other inherited diseases.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the research team.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Biological Science or a related discipline.
- Strong background in stem cell and molecular biology, with particular focus on gene-editing systems.
- Proven experience in relevant techniques, such as CRISPR, patch clamp analysis, ion-optic based calcium analysis, material sciences, or animal surgery.
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
