Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced automation systems for naval vessels. Your expertise will ensure the construction and commissioning of vessels with fully functional automated systems that meet rigorous regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation concepts for intricate processes, covering a diverse array of onboard systems.
- Craft automation designs that encompass critical defensive and deterrent systems, depending on the vessel's configuration.
- Develop functional descriptions and engineering documentation for automated ship systems.
- Create and maintain specification documents for automation components and installation procedures.
- Draft comprehensive test and validation plans to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements during virtual and real-world testing phases.
- Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely project contributions.
- Review and integrate vendor and subcontractor designs into vessel designs.
- Establish standards and methodologies for detailed engineering and commissioning.
- Provide technical support and commissioning activities for contracted projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex automation systems (PLC/SCADA), preferably in maritime, offshore, or industrial settings.
- Proven experience in complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple suppliers/subcontractors.
- Familiarity with model-based system engineering (MBSE) in accordance with the V-model.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong references, as pre-employment security screening is standard.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport required.
