About the Role

Acteon Group Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as the Head of Legal and Marine Operations. This is a full-time and permanent position based at our Rotterdam office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert Legal Advice: Offer accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice on a wide range of legal topics in support of our Marine Foundations Business Line.
  • Contract Management: Advise on contracts, agreements, and transactions to mitigate legal risks, and draft, review, and negotiate commercial tenders, contracts, and agreements.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards, and identify and assess legal risks associated with projects and operations.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, with support from external counsel when necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Manage 3 direct reports and ensure they are utilized in supporting the business to meet goals and objectives.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to staff on legal issues and compliance matters, and promote a culture of legal awareness and compliance within the company.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE as an in-house lawyer or private practice.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in managing disputes and working with external legal counsel.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
