About the JobWe are seeking an ambitious Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking research in Machine Learning.
Job DescriptionAs a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be responsible for:
- Inventing and evaluating novel methodologies for machine learning;
- Developing and presenting your research through international conferences, workshops, and journals;
- Collaborating with our team on teaching activities, including courses and supervising master and PhD students;
- Participating in Delta Lab 2 activities, including visits to the Bosch headquarters in Renningen, Germany;
- Supporting day-to-day operations of Delta Lab 2, including updating the lab website and reporting on progress and deliverables.
You will work closely with our team to advance our understanding of Machine Learning and its applications.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field;
- Experience in programming and software development, preferably with Python and statistical computing libraries (e.g. NumPy, PyTorch, JAX);
- Enthusiasm for the scientific process, including formulating and conducting experiments, data collection and analysis, and disseminating findings via writing and oral presentations;
- Ability to cooperate and work effectively within a team;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- A temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for a period of 24 months;
- A gross monthly salary ranging from €3,419 to €5,171 (scale 10), based on relevant experience;
- An extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
- The possibility to set up a workplace at home;
- A pension at ABP for which UvA pays two thirds of the contribution;
- The possibility to follow courses to learn Dutch;
- Help with housing for a studio or small apartment when moving from abroad.
