Job Description

We are seeking a Senior HVAC Engineering Specialist to support very important projects for clients in the pharmaceutical sector in Brussels. This role involves participating in the transformation of client sites/campus, building conceptual designs for new projects, and ensuring technical solutions meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Making sound decisions with agility and being a key actor in the transformation of client sites/campus
  2. Participating in feasibility studies and building conceptual designs for new projects
  3. Bringing technical expertise to ensure the best technical solution is provided to customers
  4. Ensuring technical follow-up of all projects managed by the client Engineering & Sites and Facilities
  5. Supporting other initiatives within Physical Asset Management
  6. Building capabilities of Industrial Utilities equipment and distribution network users through mentoring and coaching
  7. Working with Design Engineering Leads to define the best solution to meet customer needs
  8. Ensuring adherence to cGxP and EHS regulations and guidelines corresponding to related systems
  9. Developing and leading a professional network assessing and seeking best practices for use at the site and for the broader client network
  10. Defining cost estimates for HVAC & Black Utilities related investments
  11. Providing engineering expertise to users
  12. Being a referent during Technical Reviews
  13. Assuring Global Standards and Guidance are integrated in projects
  14. Realizing HVAC and Black Utilities analysis and consolidating an HVAC parameter table, heat/thermal balance (heating, cooling, steam)
  15. Building capabilities of HVAC & Black Utilities equipment and distribution network users through mentoring and coaching
  16. Developing a Competency Matrix at a global level
  17. Defining and Developing Technical Engineering Standards taking account of regulations, business constraints, safety, and green aspects
  18. Seeking opportunities to implement innovations in equipment lifecycle
  19. Promoting digitalization tools in their own discipline
Qualifications
  1. Strong knowledge of core principles in various engineering disciplines, including manufacturing (e.g., cell culture, purification, aseptic filling, cGMP facility design) and support systems (e.g., Compressed gases, HVAC, Heating water, Chilled and Glycol water, Steam systems, humidifier, dehumidifier,...)
  2. In-depth and specific technical knowledge of Thermodynamics, Fluids, Automation/Regulation, Piping, Material, etc.
  3. Expertise in cGMP
  4. Experience with verification, qualification & validation is an asset
  5. Able to interpret and set-up P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFD (Process Flow Diagrams)
  6. Acts as Expert for ATEX / Biosafety topics
  7. Acts as technical Utilities expert during HAZOP (Hazard and Operability study) / QRA (Quality Risk Analysis) / FMEA
  8. Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance Documents
  9. Experience in Engineering Technologies supporting product development and/or manufacturing
  10. Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) contracting models
  11. Full professional proficiency in French and English (both oral and written)
